5 Games Worth Getting in October
This is a terrible month for gamers. Not in the sense of releases, but in the sense that we’re all going to be poor by the end of the month. Regardless of the platform you play on, there’s something for almost everyone and some very big titles are launching this month. While this is supposed to be a top 5, there’s just no way to narrow down the epic releases. So here’s a top 6 instead.
As always, there’s a list at the end of the article for other noteworthy releases this month. The list links to their trailers on YouTube for you to check out.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War
Shadow of War continues from Shadow of Mordor and is set to be an epic tale. It has a deeper Nemesis System that allows the player to have Followers who are guided by the player. There’s a lot to look forward to with this game and we’re incredibly hyped!
The next game releases on October 10th.
The Evil Within 2
Sebastian is racing against the clock to save his daughter from the clutches and conspiracies of Mobius, a corporation that aims to bring “peace and order” to the world. The group kidnapped his daughter and built a world inside her head which has become unstable. The game looks horribly terrifying and should be the sequel we’ve all been hoping for.
It releases on Friday the 13th next month.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole
What’s there to say about a South Park game? It’s South Park. You either love it or hate it for it’s unique humour. Unfortunately, we love it so we’ll be picking up a copy of it when it releases next month.
You can start fracturing your but whole on October 17th.
Assassin’s Creed Origins
The next title in the Assassin’s Creed series is almost here. And Ubisoft is giving us exactly what we’ve been asking for. Assassin’s in Ancient Egypt with a brand new combat system. It’s an incredibly promising game and fans of the series are right to be excited.
Assassin’s Creed Origins drops onto consoles and PC on October 27th.
Super Mario Odyssey
Now, this is the Mario game we never knew we wanted until Nintendo revealed it. And by the Moon it looks fantastic! It looks completely outlandish and un-Mario like yet somehow, it seems to fit. Nintendo is giving Switch owners a real treat next month with this title.
Cappy and his pal Mario will be arriving on October 27th for the Nintendo Switch.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
Last but not least is the next chapter in the Wolfenstein games. The insane Nazi killing game. Everything we’ve seen for this game fits the series perfectly and it looks completely nuts. What more could we ask for from a Wolfenstein game? Well, hopefully, nothing… assuming it’s the game we’re all hoping it is.
Wolfenstein II blasts onto consoles and PC on October 27th. A Nintendo Switch version will be coming next year.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar
