There are a lot of great games coming in September, so many in fact, that it was difficult to pinpoint which ones to feature. In the end, we tried to make the top 5 diverse while still highlighting some of the best releases of the month for all platforms. Check it out!
There’s no better MMO-like shooter game than Destiny and the sequel is releasing this coming month. This is probably the headline of the month as most people will be getting this game when it releases in less that weeks time. While the console version of the game releases this September, the PC version will be arriving in October. A bit late unfortunately, but I think most of us are just happy to get it at all!
Destiny 2 releases on Xbox One and PS4 on September 6.
Metroid: Samus Returns
3DS owners have something special to look forward to this coming month. The Metroid series and Samus return this month with a brand new side-scrolling action-packed game. Well, it’s not an entirely new game. It’s the re-imagining of Metroid II: Return of Samus. This is the first true Samus game in years, however, so it’s certainly worth being excited. Hopefully, Nintendo will be able to go back to the series roots to create something memorable.
It’s releasing as a 3DS exclusive on September 15.
Dishonored: Death of the Outsider
We had expected Bethesda to announce a DLC for Dishonored 2, but we didn’t predict that it would be a standalone DLC. The game stars Billie Lurk and marks the end of the Kaldwin Era within the series. It should provide us with some insight into the Outsider, while also acting as the ‘end of the series’. We don’t know if this is the finale for Dishonored, but it could be end of the Kaldwin saga.
It will be releasing for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on September 15.
Pokken Tournament DX
This might be a re-release but there’s enough new characters to make this game worth getting. Plus, it’s a tried and tested fighting game for the Nintendo Switch which makes this platform even greater for fighting game fans.
Pokken Tournament DX releases on September 22 for the Nintendo Switch.
The highly anticipated cartoon run and gun game is finally releasing! It was first announced in 2014 and gamers have been keeping an eye on this game ever since. Inspired by the cartoons of the 1930’s, this game has a fantastic art style and compelling gameplay to match. Cuphead can be played solo or with 2 player co-op, which puts it at the top of our list of interesting games coming this month.
Gamers can finally sink some hours into Cuphead on September 29 for Xbox One and PC.
