The Ubisoft press conference was good this year. It was pretty strong throughout but there was some games showcased which didn’t seem to be quite as good. Regardless, there were some heavy hitters from the Ubisoft event so let’s take a look at them.
Skull and Bones
This is such a beautiful trailer and gives me a Black Sails and Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag vibes. It’s dark and gritty and the music to the trailer is phenomenal. After showcasing this trailer, the crowd really seemed to enjoy it and are excited for this game. I really enjoyed learning about this game as well. Right now, you can register to play the beta of this game before it’s release. You play as a pirate captain who has to travel the Indian ocean full of dangers from both sides (other sea-faring pirates as well as the King) in order to not only become king or queen of the seas but to also collect bounty and treasure. The full game comes out sometime in fall 2018. This is a multiplayer game. The gameplay looks amazing and I can’t wait to play this game.
South Park The Fractured But Whole
I have to say, in my opinion, this was one of the greatly obnoxious trailers I’ve seen so far at E3, well next to Beyond Good and Evil 2 trailer. There next trailer for another South Park game (South Park: Phone Destroyer) was a little bit lacklustre and didn’t seem as interesting to me as this game does. Maybe it’s the fact that it may actually destroy my phone if I use it, or just run up my battery life. Either way, I won’t be checking that game out as much as this one, The Fractured But Whole. This looks really interesting and fun. You play as the New Kid in town and join Eric Cartman and the rest of the South Park characters in order to destroy your enemies. This is a parody to superheroes. The game is set to release on October 17th of this year.
Far Cry 5
It’s official, the new Far Cry will be set on American soil and involves a religious cult. Everything we’ve seen so far looks controversial and wonderful. This is most definitely a Far Cry game the question, however, is whether or not the finished product will actually be worth playing.
Assassin’s Creed Origins
It’s one of the settings that all Assassin’s Creed fans have been asking for: Ancient Egypt. Origins looks like everything we could have ever hoped for from this series along with a very needed combat system overhaul. Everything looks and sounds fantastic for the next game in the series. Let’s hope it’s what Assassin’s Creed needs to survive.
Just Dance 2018
I love this franchise. In a way, I was expecting them to bring out another Just Dance game since they have one every year and this year isn’t an exception. I really liked the new and popular music they have as well as the dance moves and costumes. This is one of my favorite games to play. Just Dance will be out on October 24th.
Mario + Rabbins Kingdom Battle
This looks like a pretty awesome game and a fun one for the whole family. What more can I say about it? Two iconic characters in gaming history teaming up for a fantastic game. This will come out on August 29th.
Beyond Good and Evil 2
It’s happening! Ubisoft has been working on a new game in the Beyond Good & Evil series behind closed doors and the developer has finally confirmed it. While there were a few rumors of a new game before E3, most of us rejected them as false initially. Good to see that Ubisoft is giving the people what they want.
